Chihuahua's diet
|
|
Several excellent dry foods are available at your local pet shop. Among them are: "Royal Canin", “Nutrience”,
“First Choice”, “Eukanuba”... etc. For small and large breed dogs, these foods are widely appreciated by breeders… and their dogs! Try them to find one that suits
your dogs taste buds!
Table food meats are not advised for your dog because
the seasonings that they contain (salt, pepper and other spices) and the dense consistency
of the meat itself can lead to the accumulation of tartar on their teeth and under their gums. Vegetables like carrots and turnip cubes can be excellent for dogs because
they efficiently remove tartar. Garlic is good to help prevent intestinal worms
and many other diseases, so I add it to foods such as, poached liver, for my dogs.
You can add olive oil, or specialty oil from any pet supply store, to your dogs diet. It’s excellent for their coat and digestive system. One tablespoon per week is plenty.
Also, you should make sure that your dog gets plenty of fresh water. You may choose to add a few drops of lemon juice to prevent the formation of residue on the bottom of their water bowl.
